Senior West Norfolk Borough Council cabinet member Vivienne Spikings has resigned from her position as portfolio holder for development and planning.
The Conservative councillor said she has stepped down due to recent changes in her personal circumstances but she will remain as chairman of the planning committee.
Mrs Spikings, Upwell and Delph Ward member, said: “The workload involved with chairing planning committee and overseeing the development portfolio is massive and a change in my personal circumstances has meant that I can no longer devote the time required to undertake both roles effectively.”
Council leader Nick Daubney said he was sad to hear about the decision.
“I would like to thank Vivienne for the vast amount of work she has undertaken and for her wise counsel. I now have the opportunity to review cabinet responsibilities and will announce new arrangements very shortly.”
