Two police cars were written-off after a dumper truck was stolen near Norwich and ended-up in Brandon via Mundford.

Police chased the 30-tonne vehicle for more than two hours and across 40 miles from the Thickthorn roundabout, on the A11, to the Thetford Road.

The police Volvo, pictured above, written-off along with a Ford Focus and a BMW was damaged in the pursuit which used six cars and a helicopter.

The truck was stolen from Spixworth on Monday. The 39-year-old driver was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, dangerous driving, taking a vehicle without consent, failing stop and possession of a Class A drug.

He has been bailed by police until next month.
