Lynn's roller hockey team.

ROLLER HOCKEY: King’s Lynn RHC u11s just missed out on a place in the Eastern Counties Cup Qualifiers final at Soham after suffering penalty heartache.

Lynn hit back from 3-0 down against Letchworth in the semi-final to draw 3-3. No goals were scored in extra-time and it went down to a penalty shoot-out to decide the winners, with Lynn just missing out.

The West Norfolk team had bounced back from an opening match 8-1 defeat against Peterborough to beat Ely 2 8-0 to secure their semi-final place.

Ria Griffin scored for Lynn in their opener. It was a tough game but Miles Hovell and Myer Easter formed a solid defensive wall and Peterborough had to work for their goals.

Against Ely captain Joe Crawford shone and scored a superb goal. Joshua Futter hit four and Ria Griffin three.

The semi-final saw Letchworth on target three times in the first half but Joshua Futter pulled it back to 3-2 and just before the whistle blew, Griffin scored the third.

Keaton Vincent was making his debut as goalkeeper and faced a baptism of fire in the penalty shoot-out decider. He had played excellently all day, saving multiple shots and managed to save one of the penalties.

But that was not enough to secure a final berth for Lynn, who thanked MKM for their continued support.
