Reigning champions Downham Town continue to flounder in the wrong half of the Norfolk Alliance Premier Division table. Graham Cupido helped restrict them to 127 at Ashmanhaugh & Barton with 6-33 and the bottom-placed team reached their target with six wickets in hand.

Stow held out for a draw at Cromer but slipped to the bottom of the table. Cromer posted 253/3 with Stow’s reply finishing on 159/4.

Clanpress man of the match Michael Crisp helped push North Runcton 17 points clear at the top of Division One with a six-wicket win over Horsford A. He took all the wickets to reduce the visitors to 52-5 and finished with 5-33 as Horsford posted 145.

In reply, captain Mark Skipper showed his talents as he scored an outstanding 65 runs as North Runcton met their target in the 32nd over.

There was a double defeat for West Norfolk’s sides in Division Three. Downham A slipped by six wickets to Brooke A and North Runcton A’s chase of Hardingham’s low total ended 22 runs short. Runcton bowled out the home side inside 42 overs for just 160. The wickets were shared around with Ben Skipper, Bob Belcher and Mike Annakin taking two each with captain Darren Cubitt finishing with 3-13.

In reply, no one could stick around with Clanpress man of the match opener Aidy Gigson, who batted superbly for an unbeaten 65.

But that was not enough as his last partner departed with only 138 on the board.

Dersingham gained a winning Division Four draw against Norwich B but Ben Southgate’s 6-33 was not quite enough to earn full points.

James Havers hit 64 of the visitors’ 184/9 and they restricted Norwich to 129/7.

Stow A lost by six wickets to Garboldisham A. A Gibson hit an unbeaten 65 in Stow’s 186/8 but the South Norfolk side reached 187/4 in reply, despite D Cubitt’s 3-13.

Paul Lough 60no, John King 51 and Will Pillinger 49 struck the bulk of Bircham’s 245/4 against Horsford B in Division Six but the visitors hung on at 166/6 to gain a minority share of the points.
