CWA's Simon Leader.

RUGBY UNION: A College of West Anglia coach is on the bring of a rare grand slam.

Simon Leader is skills and kicking coach for the Belgian u19 national team and has led his charges to an unbeaten record against Ukraine, Moldova, Sweden and Holland.

Leader coached in France with Belgium head coach Guillaume Ajac and, when he was putting together a team for the European B competition, he called on the West Norfolk-based coach.

That has paid dividends, with Belgium’s wins including a
71-10 thrashing of Sweden.

Victory over Poland will complete a clean sweep of the opening round of fixtures with the reverse matches to come.

Promotion will earn a place in Six Nations B, the pool of countries directly below the main Six Nations big guns, with the chance to qualify for the 2019 World Cup in Japan up for grabs.

Leader has to conduct coaching sessions in French but is enjoying the challenge on and off the field.
