Lion King costumes for Terrington St Clement pupils.

Pupils from a number of primary schools in West Norfolk took centre stage for a festival of dance.

Held at Gaywood Community Centre last Thursday, around ten schools entered classes and dance groups in the 2015 Dance Festival, which was organised by West Norfolk School Sport Partnership.

Class teacher Will Denny took 30 children from Terrington St Clement Primary School who were dressed as characters from Disney’s The Lion King musical and film.

Mr Denny said it was a fantastic non-competitive event  where pupils performed in front of other school children.

“It was a real appreciation of dance and schools’ achievement,” said Mr Denny.

The year 3 and 4 pupils used their Lion King topic work to illustrate African dance.

Mr Denny was helped by Jayne Wassell, a PE co-ordinator, who worked with pupils on their dance routine, and teaching assistant Wendy Williams, who made the masks.

Mr Denny said the school would look forward to taking part again next year.
