Book sharing and a host of reading activities were part of the World Book Day celebrations at Beaupre Community Primary School in Outwell on Thursday.

Pupils and staff dressed up for the day and many of the favourite costumes had been inspired by a host of Walt Disney characters which included some from the latest blockbuster film, Frozen.

Costumes also included characters from books penned by Roald Dahl and Lewis Carroll.

Teachers swapped classes for part of the day and talked to pupils about their favourite books.

Parents and families had been invited into the Church Drove school to read with the children and take part in book-based activities.

There was a reading competition and children shared books with other age groups from different classes.
