A King’s Lynn company is celebrating a move which has seen it grow from a van and spare bedroom to a purpose-built showroom and facilities.

Double G Clothing was started  in the town 22 years ago by Gordon Chilvers and Graham Bennett who pooled resources to create the wholesale clothing distribution company.

For round the first four months Mr Chilvers continued working for Master Foods while establishing Double G.

Later the same year, the company moved to its first unit  on the Hardwick Narrows.

“The embroidery and printing has grown year-on-year to now supply the likes of the NHS, RAF, playgroups, schools, colleges, universities, commercial industry and various sports clubs,” said Mr Chilvers.

The company has recently moved to a new unit on Horsleys Fields.

“We now have a purpose-built showroom specially for our embroidery and print customers along with the wholesale warehouse for traders. The icing on the cake is that the embroidery and print division has been greeted with a fantastic response that led to a record January,” said Mr Chilvers, who added that both the range of products and the workforce were likely to increase.
