FOOTBALL: Divisional ranking counted for nothing as Dersingham Social Club romped to a 10-1 victory at top flight Clenchwarton in the West Norfolk Scaffolding Lynn Sunday League Cup.

Adam Mason found the net for the hosts but that was mere consolation as Robbie Palmer 4, Luke Biles 3, Anton Ely 2 and Nathan Mitchell struck for the Division Three team to earn them a second round victory.

In the quarter-final, Flitcham Bell, fresh from making the TGWU Final the previous weekend, travelled to face CSKA Emneth.

There was to be no upset though as the hosts defended well and attacked with precision in a 4-0 win,.

Adam Drew 2, Dave Abbott and Toby Killingsworth were all on target.

Heacham Reserves were unable to field a side against England’s Hope, so Hope progress to the semi-final.

West Lynn became the new Division Three leaders with a routine 3-0 win over Fleet, to take advantage of Dersingham’s involvement in the League Cup.

West Lynn can thank Nathan Young, Dan Griffith and Alec Wilkinson for their goals.

Horsepigs Reserves chalked up a 7-1 win over basement boys Watlington.

Danny Kew netted a treble with John Murphy, Terry Whitwell, Mathew Weeds and Paul Beckford also scoring. Oliver Reynolds scored for Watlington.
