West Norfolk Mayor Barry Ayres was a special guest when the Maids Head pub in King’s Lynn officially relaunched following a £200,000 revamp.
The historic Tuesday Market Place pub was bought by Metro Inns (Suffolk) Ltd last autumn and has been given a complete face-lift over the last few months.
Businesses in the town were given a sneak preview of the pub at a special event on Wednesday, attended by Mr Ayres and his wife Christine.
Guests enjoyed a look around the refurbished pub, tried dishes from the menu, including home-made burgers, and met manager Tom Newman.
The pub opened to the public for the first time yesterday.
Mr Newman said he was delighted with the preview evening and added that feedback had been positive from those who attended.
The mid-18th century pub will also have an outside seating area in the warmer weather.
