Happy New Year to you all, writes Simon McKenna, Lynnsport chief executive.
As we get back into the swing of things after all the festivities, don’t forget we are here to help with any New Year’s resolutions, which include becoming fitter and healthier.
Throughout January we are offering no joining fee on our Alive Fitness memberships, so you can save up to £50.
There’s never been a better time to start on your way to a new healthier lifestyle.
Active Norfolk has launched a new workplace challenge, which starts on Monday. You can challenge yourself, your colleagues and other organisations to be more active in 2015 and be in with a chance to win prizes.
The eight-week challenge is a great way to motivate yourself and your colleagues in the New Year, enjoy some office banter and improve your energy and stress levels.
Use the Workplace Challenge website to create your own private activity target and monitor your progress throughout the eight-week challenge and beyond.
Challenge yourself to achieve the Chief Medical Officers’ recommendation of 150 minutes of physical activity per week, to cycle to work three days a week, or organise a social 30 minute lunchtime walk three days a week – it’s up to you.
Encourage your colleagues to sign up and enjoy some friendly competition to see who can build the most physical activity into their day.
Our leaderboards enable you to see the most active employees and departments within your business, as well as giving you the chance to compete with other organisations in Norfolk.
Log your levels of activity at www.workplacechallenge.org.uk/activenorfolk. Every activity you log will allocate points to you and your workplace and enter you into a weekly draw.
