Schoolchildren sparkled in their festive jumpers on Friday, raising awareness and funds for Save the Children at the same time.

Pupils at Watlington Primary School had spent several weeks decorating old jumpers specially for the occasion.

Teaching assistant Sharon Batterham came up with the idea of using old jumpers and worked with each pupil individually on their own design.

Mrs Batterham even gave up some of her own time to come into school to help the children with their jumpers.

Mrs Batterham also spoke to the children about the work of Save the Children while they were busy making their jumpers.

At St Michael’s School in South Lynn, the staff and children wore their festive jumpers on the day they tucked into their Christmas lunch.
