RUGBY UNION: West Norfolk stepped up to third in London North East 3 with a convincing bonus point 39-0 victory at Upminster.
Winger Jake Richardson scored a first-half hat-trick of tries with Monty Maule converting two to open a 19-0 lead. Maule’s penalty and a drop goal made it 25-0 before Lewys Weaver sliced through to score the fourth try and Maule converted his own score to round things off.

Manager, Nigel Richardson said: “Upminster are traditionally a very hard side to break down at home, so for us to come away with a bonus point win is a brilliant result.
“Once again, being able to complete the match without conceding any points is especially pleasing and a testament to the lads’ work in defence. However, we must keep our focus as we look to push ahead to this weekend’s cup game.”
West host Holt in the Norfolk Cup tomorrow.

Jack Trundley scored two tries and a conversion, assisted twice by George Lemon. Full-back Tom Collie impressed and added a try. Connor Clarke sprinted clear to touch down for the final score of the match.
