A 20-foot monster with gaping grin will be taking part in festive fun on Sunday.
The Wash Monster, pictured, will be leaving its beach home and heading inland to the town centre when Hunstanton switches on its lights.
The amphibious craft, which has five-foot-high tyres, will be open at 1, 2 and 3pm for people to go on board and have a photo taken with Captain Willie.
The town’s family fun day runs from 10am to 6pm followed by a disco.
There will be stalls inside and outside the town hall, music, street entertainment, Hunstanton Community Choir, and a Santa’s grotto in the Princess Theatre.
There will also be a science fiction exhibition in The Golden Lion, complete with a replica dalek.
The annual tug-of-war between the firemen and lifeboatmen is at 3.30pm on the upper Green.
The lights will go on at 5pm after a parade around the town led by Santa, with decorated Honda Goldwings and classic Minis.
The evening ends with a family disco at 7pm at The Golden Lion.
* Downham Market has a host of switch-on events throughout the weekend.
There will be a craft fair tomorrow from 10am to 5pm in the town hall and also on Sunday from noon to 6pm.
Sunday’s celebrations will start at 2pm and the lights are due to be switched on around 4.30pm in the Market Square.
There will be a free Santa’s grotto, fun fair rides and entertainment from school choirs and Hilgay Silver Band.
The annual Santa fun run also takes place at 3pm with registration for participants at the Town Square.

There will be a Christmas Market in the village from noon.
