Watlington moved to within a point of the top of the Division Two table after their third straight win of the season, a 4-3 thriller at The Woottons. It proved to be the Ben show with Baxter-Hunt, Fenn and Smith scoring for the visitors, as well as an own goal from Simon King. Sary Rahma saved a penalty for The Woottons, whose goals included strikes from Chris Harding and Daniel Tyers.
Springwood still lead the way but it was reduced after a 2-2 draw with Snettisham Maroons, meaning both teams lost their 100 per cent records.
Josh Rowe and Chez Rust scored for the hosts with the responses coming from George Green and Thomas Hawkins.
Ingoldisthorpe Reserves made it two wins from two with a 5-2 success at Hunstanton. Kieran Herbert struck twice with Bradley Ely, Samuel Ely and Stuart Moore completing the nap-hand. Ben Butler and Laurie Hibberd struck for the hosts.
Tilney’s hopes of recovering from recent poor performances suffered a set back in Division Three when they conceded a penalty to Marshland Saints’ Lewis Sparks. Man of the match Simon Ing levelled things with a great solo run and finish, while Alex Bone surprised the home crowd by putting Tilney in front.
The second half saw Tilney get back to their ground game, which resulted in a confident performance and two more goals from Chris Yaxley and Adam Chenery to put them top.
Spencer Yorke scored four times in The Woottons Reserves’ 9-2 win at Redgate Rangers Reserves. Jamie Bramham, Matthew Child, Kevin Fitness, Craig O’Dell and Alex Tweed completed the visitors’ scoresheet. Gary Bowman scored one for Redgate.
Matthew Pooley and Robert Ward grabbed two apiece in Thornham’s 5-2 win at Denver. Matthew Blake also scored after Denver had led 1-0 at half-time. Their scorers were Matthew Wolfe and Ben Young.
Lee Hyde’s two goals proved crucial for Greyfriars in their 4-3 win over Lynn Napier Reserves. Gavin Nichols and Oliver Shirley also scored to trump away goals from Dan Allard, Michael Bunn and Matthew Hitchcock.
Kris Goldsmith scored in both halves as Docking won 2-1 at Great Massingham. Sam Molyneux notched for the hosts.
A crazy first 20 minutes cost Springwood Reserves dearly at Marshland Saints Reserves in Division Four. The hosts scored six goals in the first 20 minutes on their way to an 8-0 win. Jake Hopkisson cashed in with five goals and Craig Pack scored two of the others. Springwood’s man of the match was Harry Portass
Matthew Wright netted twice in Heacham Reserves’ 4-3 win over Birchwood Reserves. Jack Dennis and Aaron Jones also scored with Joshua Ridsdill 2 and Brady Jones replying.
Chris Laskey scored a hat-trick in South Creake’s 7-1 win at Methwold United Reserves and Steven Firth struck three times in the second half to earn West Lynn a 3-0 win at Pentney.
Perry Cracknell hit two of Snettisham Reserves’ goals in their 7-4 defeat by East Winch after leading 3-2 at half-time.
