GOLF: Jenny Chessell won the Middleton Hall Golf Club Three Clubs and a Putter Trophy with a 40-point score.

That was a point more than second-placed Elaine Wall and she received her trophy from the club’s ladies captain, Mary Hawkes.

Debbie Hemeter was winner of the Brass Trophy, awarded to the winner of a nine-hole competition for ladies with a handicap of 36, which she won with 17 points.

The annual R&P Society golf day was held at Ryston Park Golf Club last Wednesday with 36 golfers playing an individual stableford competition.

The day was organised by Wisbech pair Paul Allen and Dean Nixon and £1,205 was raised for Meadowgate School.

The winner was Steven Cobbin, with 44 points. Seven points adrift in second place was Mark Nixon, who pipped Dean Nixon on countback.

That was also needed to separate fourth placed Barry Croxford from Paul Barker, who were level on 36 points.

Nearest the pin prizes went to Dean Nixon, Mark Nixon and Mark Freear.
