Delightful donkeys Jenny and Daisy were two unusual visitors to a King’s Lynn care home.

Liz Wright, of Wimblington in Cambridgeshire, took the donkeys to Goodwins Hall to meet fundraising resident Veronica ‘Ronnie’ Green.

Mrs Green, 90, has been selling potted houseplants from cuttings at 20p for The Donkey Sanctuary and had raised £120, which she presented that day.

As a way of saying thank-you for the money, Ms Wright decided to take Jenny and Daisy for a surprise visit earlier this month.

They proved a big hit and received lots of fuss and attention from everyone at the Goodwins Road care home.

Lynda Barber, lifestyle co-ordinator at home, said the donkeys were well behaved.

She said all the residents who were able to went outside to see the donkeys, gave them a stroke and fed them carrots.

Mrs Green has been praised for her all her gardening efforts at the home.

Mrs Barber said the care Goodwins Hall, part of the Hallmark group, won an overall company In Bloom award last year and Mrs Green scooped an individual award for the garden area she maintains at the home.
