FOOTBALL: Belper Town 3, King’s Lynn 3. The Linnets where looking to get back to winning ways after back-to-back defeats when they travelled to Belper.

Things didn’t start well for Lynn with the home side taking the lead in six minutes, but Lynn found their feet and George Thomson had an effort palmed behind by the home keeper. Alex Street made two saves in the space of a few minutes then Dan Quigley was denied from close range from Bell’s corner.

Right on half time Lynn where awarded a penalty when Jake Jones was hauled down and David Bell converted.

Lynn dominated the second half and deservedly took the lead in 59 minutes when David Bridges slotted home. This seemed to spur Lynn on, but Belper was gifted a lifeline back into the game due to a defensive mix up.

The points looked destined for Norfolk when Lynn got back in front. Bell supplied a cross for Thomson to head home. But there was another twist in the tale. Minutes into injury time Lynn gave a sloppy free kick away and Froggatt scored.

Manager Gary Setchell said afterwards: “We keep making errors and it’s killing us. Second half we played some brilliant football, but it’s individual mistakes that are costing us.”

* On Saturday, The Linnets lost 0-1 Trafford in the EvoStik League Premier Division.

Setchell saw his under par side lose their 100 percent home record. Lynn went down to a 40th minute Shelton Payne free kick and it was the visitors who had the better play.

A disappointed Setchell said: “I think we deserved to lose. I’ve got no complaints with the result, I’ve got complaints with my own team’s performance.”
