The RSPCA East Winch Wildlife Centre has its towel appeal all wrapped up – thanks to you.

Staff have been inundated with towels following a public appeal two weeks ago.

Sacks full of donated towels mean seal pups, hedgehogs and other animals at the centre can be kept snug and warm.

The centre had been getting through 75 towels every day as staff cared for seals in the hospital unit.

There are also other animals needing towels and the stock had got very low.

Centre administrator, Sue Levings, wanted to say a big thank-you to everyone who contributed.

“We have been inundated. We don’t need any more at this moment in time, but thank-you to everyone,” said Miss Levings.

“We have got black sacks full, a laundry is sending supplies and some are also coming from a hotel in London.

“But what we do need is donations to help with feed costs.

“The centre always need financial help,” she added.

“It costs us £1.82 to feed a hedgehog for a week, £2.38 for a swan and £26.60 to feed a seal for a week.”

Money is always needed towards various costs at the centre, in Station Road.
