Snettisham Beach Sailing Club are enjoying a wonderful week of sailing with a range of abilities involved.

About 25 novices have been learning to sail in Oppies and have mastered tacking backwards and forward, taking turns to helm.

Sunshine with just the right amount of wind on Monday got them off to a good start..

Bronze and silver groups can sail and have progressed to toppers, which are ideal for those wanting to begin to race or just enjoy hiking out on a windy day.

Most children are sailing on their own and can capsize and recover with ease, gaining confidence.

Gold group are sailing on the lake and learning to race, practicing starts and rounding the buoys, jostling for position.

Two sea groups have started to venture to the sea and continue to learn control settings and how to get good boat speed.

All the instructors are home grown and have delivered another fun, active and memorable week.

Today (Friday) is Pirate Day with team racing and games, rounded-off with tomorrow’s presentations and mud rugby.
