FOOTBALL: King’s Lynn Community Football has received a near £200K boost. The scheme has gained £174,260 of National Lottery funding from Sport England’s Community Sport Activation Fund plus £23,700 partner funding from the West Norfolk Partnership, Borough Council of King’s Lynn & West Norfolk and the Lawn Tennis Association.

The funds are to support grassroots sport activity and will focus on communities living in areas of deprivation, including North, South and West Lynn, Fairstead, Gaywood, St Margaret’s with St Nicholas, Upwell & Delph, Walpole & Walton and the Spellowfield area.

The grant will be used to create new initiatives and develop existing programmes offering affordable and accessible sporting opportunities.

King’s Lynn Community Football development manager Dan Buhlemann said: “We are delighted to receive funding from the Community Sport Activation Fund. The money will allow communities living in some of the rural and deprived areas across King’s Lynn & West Norfolk to access and try a variety of sports and activities.

“We are excited about the opportunities that local people will benefit from over the next three years.”
