New owners have taken over Thornham Village Deli, Cafe and Store.

The successful business has been bought by Jeanne Whittome and Janie Thompson.

Mrs Whittome owned and ran the Hoste Arms Hotel in Burnham Market for more than 20 years with her late husband Paul, before she sold it two years ago.

Mrs Thompson ran a successful café in Hunstanton for 20 years and worked with the couple as a director at the Hoste Arms. She will oversee the daily running of the business with support from Denise Le Gallez and the existing deli staff.

The deli will focus on locally-grown and sourced artisan produce and the kitchen will continue to produce its own homemade jams, chutneys, cakes and savouries.

Mrs Whittome said: “We are thrilled to be taking on this established business which will support No. 33, our new boutique bed and breakfast in Hunstanton, which is due to open mid-July.

“We are particularly looking forward to meeting and supporting the villagers, suppliers and holidaymakers and putting something back into the community.”

Plans are in place to extend the premises with a new shop, larger kitchens and to create office space upstairs to accommodate other businesses.

Mrs Whittome said: “We are looking forward to the challenge of this new venture and, most importantly, we are looking forward to having some fun and making a happy place for all our customers to visit and enjoy.”
