Boxing fans turned out in force to support a night to remember at the home of The Linnets.

Football club manager Gary Setchell took to the ring himself and made a grand entrance in front of hundreds of chanting supporters.

It was his boxing debut and he took on the experienced Troy Matthews, from Portsmouth.

He was awarded the win on points.

“I was nervous going into the fight so I thought I would sit in the stand and get some of the atmosphere and watch the other boxers. The nerves really kicked-in when I got into the tunnel but I heard the roar of the crowd and that got me buzzing and once I got through the opening 30 seconds I was fine,” he said.

Local boxers Brandon Willmore, Johnny Marlow, Mel Payne and Ben Tansley were all on the card for the Saturday night spectacular organised by Heros Gym in Lynn.
