The GLEAM team were pipped to top spot at the Norfolk Village Games.

The team, consisting of residents from Gayton, Leziate, East Winch, Ashwicken and Middleton won all five group games against teams from Hickling, Long Stratton, The Lophams, Swaffham and Hethersett at the event, organised by Active Norfolk, at Neatherd High School, Dereham.

They played the other group winners, Scarning, in the final but lost narrowly 9-6.

Twelve teams had qualified for the finals, with GLEAM’s district rivals Terrington St Clement, coming eighth overall.
