Sunday is the Grand East Anglian Run in King’s Lynn so, as expected, relatively few people were in racing action last week, although almost 60 turned up for the last GEAR course try-out run organised by Andy Harrod.

About 60 Ryston members will be in action in GEAR, with many more involved in the admin and event support.

Ryston Runners’ Nic Bensley was working in London’s Docklands area so entered the Hotelympia 10K and completed it in seventh place in 36:17.

Miranda Keedy ran the Ickworth 10K in 1:04:03, more than five minutes faster than last year.

Three Ryston athletes represented Team Norfolk in the Youth Development League Premier Division match at Norwich.

Annie Rooks was third in the B string U17G 1,500m, in 5.21:12.

Hannah Brown was also third in the U17G 300m in 42.63 and high jumped 1.40m for another third.

She also ran in the 4x300m relay team, with the team coming… third!

There was a second place for Ed Borrmann in the U20M pole vault A string with 3.80m. He also jogged the 2000m steeplechase for extra points and came third in the B string.
