FOOTBALL: An excellent goalkeeping display from Jake Morley was not enough to earn Springwood victory in the Norfolk County FA Primary Cup final.

The North West Norfolk League side lost 3-2 in a penalty shoot-out after holding Norwich team One Love United to a 2-2 draw after extra-time at the Football Development Centre.

Chez Rust sent an early chance just wide with Lewis Osborn sending a number of threatening balls into the box.

United goalkeeper Bill Sinclair had to pull off two excellent saves from ricochets to keep the scoreline blank at half-time.

Chris Edgar made a last-ditch clearance to prevent United taking the lead but the Norwich Saturday League side slowly gained the upper hand and went ahead after 62 minutes through captain Ebus Onuchuckwa.

Morley got down well to smother the ball at the feet of Mussa Camara and, as the full-time whistle drew closer, kept his team in the match with superb saves from Mussa Camara and man of the match Onuchuckwa.

They looked to be crucial because with two minutes to go Alex Oughton met a looping cross to head in the equaliser.

However, One Love regained the advantage two minutes into extra time when Lee Cosgrove fired home.

But Springwood fought back again and made it 2-2 after 108 minutes when Corey Brady diverted the ball into the net after it had bounced off of him in a goalmouth melee.

Springwood pushed for glory but were denied by some outstanding saves from Sinclair, who then went on to frustrate them in the penalty shoot-out.
