A King’s Lynn business is helping a local school to transform an outdoor area.

Mars Food UK, of Hansa Road, is working with pupils and staff at Greyfriars Primary School on a second project.

In 2012, the company worked on a project to renovate a disused piece of land which has been turned into a school garden.

This has resulted in the children being able to use the garden to grow their own vegetables.

Last week, staff returned to the London Road school to help to transform an area around the Year 1 and Year 2 classrooms.

They spent a day turning the space into something which can be used to support learning.

The school said the children enjoyed watching the transformation and even went outside to help.

Mars has created a decked seating area, space for growing plants and vegetables and a meadow trail garden.

This is part of a wider project called  ‘Mars in the community’ where the company helps to support local projects to improve their local environment.

Greyfriars  school is one of the King’s Lynn Eco Schools, which is currently working towards a prestigious Green Flag Award.
