Bestselling picture book Aliens Love Underpants was the inspiration behind two fun-filled workshops in King’s Lynn this week.

Youngsters were able to get creative, design their own underpants and enjoy stories during the sessions, held in the Vancouver Quarter on Tuesday and Wednesday.

A family ticket to see Aliens Love Underpants at Kings Lynn Corn Exchange was on offer for the winning design.

All the artwork was proudly displayed on a colourful wall of pants at the event, held in a vacant unit next to Ikon in Lynn’s New Conduit Street.

Vancouver Quarter manager Abbi Pants said around 200 children took part, producing some fantastic designs.

“It seems underpants are very popular!” she added.

“We are going to string up all the pants as bunting to welcome the aliens to the Corn Exchange.”

Aliens Love Underpants will be at the King’s Lynn venue from Tuesday, April 29 to Wednesday, April 30, with two performances on each day.

The book tells the story of aliens coming down to earth not to take over the planet, but to collect underpants.

Tickets can be booked on the venue’s website at or by calling the box office on 01553 764864.

The Vancouver Quarter is also hosting a classic car and rally show on Easter Saturday and Sunday to raise money for the East Anglian Air Ambulance.
