TABLE TENNIS: A two-man team proved a step too far for Pegg Scaffolding in the Premier Division of the King’s Lynn Table Tennis Association.

The depleted team lost 8-2 to St James’ team of Owen Turner, Chris Gay and Mark Pearman.

Walton Highway beat Nets & Edges 8-2 with maximums for Alan Ashberry and Mike Crowson. Nets’ Leigh McDonald and Steve Ely both beat Peter Munch.

Newly-crowned champions Ziggy’s beat Terrington 6-4. Alan Nicholls got a maximum for Ziggy’s, while Ross and Karll Brown won two games each for Terrington.

Heacham’s first team lost to Avengers 7-3, for whom Don Dixon, Jim Defty and Richard Cummins won two each and Dixon and Cummins won the doubles.

Mark Littlechild was unbeaten for Heacham, getting all his side’s points.

In Division One, the Runcton Holme A trio of Jerry Irving, Tim Hines and John Mingay beat Swaffham Terriers 10-0 and are now 10 points clear with two games to go.

Second-placed Walton Highway B lost vital ground on the leaders when they fielded only two players against Runcton Holme’s Melvin Jupp, Nick Osborne and Graham Warren. The Highwaymen did, however, still manage a 6-4 win, with Graham Pack getting a maximum and Mick Forth losing only to Osborne.

In Division One, the Heacham B side were in great form at home to Greenfingers. Chris Fuller, Andy Marsh and Mary-Ann Woodhouse all went unbeaten with Fuller and Woodhouse completing a 10-0 score with a doubles win over Gordon Penny and John Carney.

Paul’s Driving School beat Ambit Projects 6-4. Rob Rix got a maximum for the School, including an 11-9 win in the fifth end against Lewis Baldock.

In Division Two, Sedgeford’s David Woolley, Alex Woolley and Mike Witley fought out a 5-5 draw with the Spin Doctors team of Malcolm Scott, John Wiggs and Les Brockhurst, David Woolley got a maximum for Sedgeford.

Heacham C’s Mike Nobes, Mick Minns and Adrian Evans beat Runcton Holme B 9-1. David Lane got Holme’s point.

The two Heacham teams in Division Two of the King’s Lynn TTA shared the spoils with a 5-5 draw.

Heacham C took on Spivs Specials with Mick Minns and Charley Hammond both having two wins, while Mike Nobes chipped in with a win over Jeff Race.

For the Specials, Janice Howell had a great maximum and Jim Race added a point with a win over Nobes. They then joined up for a doubles win over Minns and Nobes to secure the draw.
