It was another fantastic weekend for King’s Lynn gymnast Owen Stannard at the trials for the Great Britain tumbling squad as he came away winner of the event, writes Steve McKenna, manager of Lynnsport.

We don’t yet know whether he will be selected for the European Championships but we are hopeful he will be included for the competition, which takes place in Portugal.

It is a great achievement for Owen, who has represented Great Britain once before, and also for the club and coaches.

λ CWA Fury Basketball have their last match of the season at Lynnsport tomorrow evening against Cambridge Cats.

It will be a tense finale as if they win they will make the play-offs but if they lose, that’s the season over. It’s fair to say, win or lose, it has been an incredibly successful season, so congratulations to all the coaches, players, volunteers and spectators. Tip off is at 6pm and entrance is £5 adult, £3 children. Come along and show your support.

λ If you have a child’s birthday coming up, why not celebrate with one of our birthday parties. There is a huge range to choose from, including gymnastics, football and climbing. The activity lasts about an hour, followed by 45 minutes in the social area for food. Parties are available at weekends and are led by coaches from King’s Lynn Community Football.

Prices start at £7.99 per child and party sandwich boxes can be provided.
