TABLE TENNIS: Richard Johnson scored a maximum as Nets and Edges beat Ziggy’s team of Alan Nicholls, John Blyth and Steve Barrett 7-3 in the Premier Division of the King’s Lynn Table Tennis Association.

Alan Jones and Steve Goodale were also on form for Nets.

The St James trio of Owen Turner, Serafim Melo and Chris Gay beat Avengers 9-1. Don Dixon had a good win over Owen Turner to get Avengers a point.

Walton Highway A beat Pegg Scaffolding 6-4 with Martin Skipper getting a maximum for the Scaffolders.

In Division One, leaders Runcton Holme A, who had Jerry Irving, Tim Hines and Martin Supp playing, beat the Walton Highway B trio of Graham Sheppard, Mick Forth and Paul Reed 6-4. A close match saw the leaders edge it to go 10 points clear. Runcton have the slightly harder run in, so there could yet be some twists in the battle to play in the top division next season.

Runcton’s team of Melvin Jupp, Graham Warren and Steve Bailey fought out a 5-5 draw with Ambits Projects’ Graham Rogerson, David Whitby and Lewis Baldock. Melvin Jupp got a maximum for Runcton.

Swaffham Terriers beat Greenfingers 7-3 in the Division’s other fixture. Peter Fysh and Peter Nunn got maximums for Swaffham.

In Division Two, leaders Wasps team of Steve Mason, Liam Irlam and David Hughes beat Spiv’s Specials, Jim Race, Jeff Race and Janice Howell 7-3, Steve Mason and Liam Irlam both got maximums for Wasps, who are now 27 points in front and will be playing in Division One next season.

Runcton Holme B, who had David Lane, Alan Fuller and Bryan Parsons playing, beat Sedgeford 7-3. Mike Whitley got a maximum for Sedgeford.

Mollie Patterson will be playing for England Schools TTA in the British
Primary International iJersey in April. She will be competing
teams from Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Jersey, Guernsey and Isle of Man and has received huge boost towards her travelling and accommodation costs.

The Brancaster Staithe youngster, 11, who is ranked No.14 in the national
rankings at 
u13 level, received cheque for £200 from Adrian Evans, pictured,
the Hunstanton Rotary Club.

* Heacham lost 7-3 to Terrington in the King’s Lynn TTA with Phil, Karl and Ross Brown all winning two games for the victors but none could get the better of Heacham No.1 James Patterson, who got all his side’s points.

In Division One, Heacham B drew with PDS. Chris Fuller won all his matches, while Mary-Ann Woodhouse and Aaron Howell both added another point. Rob Rix and Paul Barrett had two wins each for PDS.

In Division Two, Heacham C drew with Spin Doctors with captain Adrian Evans unbeaten and Mick Minns adding the other two points.
