TABLE TENNIS: After the previous week’s Championships, it was a bad week for Heacham, with four matches bringing four losses.
In Division Two, Spivs Specials travelled the short distance to Sedgeford and went down 7-3.
The home side’s Ian Rix and David Woolley did all the damage, going unbeaten, plus winning the doubles.
For the Specials there was a win each for Jeff Race, Janice Howell and Stephen Jackson.
Heacham C travelled to Lynnsport to face Wisbech Wasps and found they had too much sting and went down 7-3 – Charley Hammond two wins and Mick Minns one.
Star of the night was Steve Mason with a fine maximum.
In Division One, Heacham B lost 9-1 at Ambit Projects. But their single point was well worth it, David Howell having a brilliant win over Division One champion Dave Whitby.
In the Premier Division, Heacham went down 6-4 at home to Pegg Scaffolding. There were two wins each for the Scaffolders’ Martin Skipper, Jon Reavell and Peter Pegg.
Man of the match was the hosts’ James Patterson, who had a great maximum, not dropping an end, plus winning the doubles with Vaughan Parker.
