The Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile will take place at Lynnsport on Sunday, March 23, and we want to make this the best event yet.

You can choose your own distance challenge from one, three or six miles.

That means, from teeny tots with their mums and dads, to super sprinters up against the clock, there’s something for everyone on the big day.

By getting sponsored to do the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile, you’re helping to make a big difference. The money you raise will be spent by Comic Relief to help transform lives here in the UK and across the world’s poorest countries.

The flat route starts and finishes on the athletics track and takes in some of the scenery around the parkland of Lynnsport.

There will be a warm-up in the sports barn, led by a Bodyworks fitness consultant before the race starts at 10am. You can enter the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile online at www.sportrelief.com

Training programmes for all distances can be downloaded from the website with options for beginner, intermediate and advanced runners.

λ The KLFM West Norfolk Sports Awards take place on Wednesday at the Corn Exchange. The event recognises and honours the contributions made by dedicated sports coaches, officials, clubs, men, women and teams across West Norfolk.

This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate success in sports and Lynnsport’s gymnastics club will be strongly represented.

Owen Stannard is nominated for Young Sports Person of the Year after an outstanding year, representing Great Britain at the World Age Championships. His coach Trudi Nicholson is nominated in the Coach of the Year category and the club is nominated for Team of the Year.
