GYMNASTICS: King’s Lynn Gymnastics Club has enjoyed a lot of recent success.

Owen Stannard gave a high quality performance to come sixth in the 22nd Tumbling World Age Group Competitions, in Sofia, Bulgaria.

He is the first gymnast from the Lynn club to represent Great Britain.

Acrobatic gymnastics trio Dong Ting Xu, Lin Ling Xu and Li Lei Xu and men’s group Luke Winner, Ben Cooper, Travis O’Connor and James Evans competed at the British Acrobatics Tournament at Fenton Manor, Stoke, with the outstanding routines of the women’s group earning the team first place.

A picture of their fantastically choreographed routine appeared on the home page of the British Gymnastics website, increasing the recognition of King’s Lynn Gymnastics Club.

The men’s group competition saw the Lynn team give a sensational performance to secure the silver medal.

The Regional Acrobatics and Tumbling Championships were held at Salto Gymnastics Club in Luton and Lynn competitors returned with nine gold, seven silver and seven bronze medals.

Head coach Jimmy Xu said: “These competition results have been exceptional and Lynn have made their mark upon the regional, national and international championships.

“Congratulations must go to our coaches, gymnasts and their families.

“I am optimistic about what 2014 has in store and hope our successes will grow in the new year.”
