FOOTBALL: King’s Lynn Town were made to pay for not cashing in on their first-half dominance at Evo-Stik League leaders Skelmersdale on Saturday.

The Linnets slipped to a 3-0 defeat after dominating much of the first half.

Gary Setchell’s team should have been ahead before the home side created a chance with Massiah McDonald and George Thomson having the best efforts.

The home side took the lead after a free-kick was not dealt with in the Lynn box after a headed effort struck the cross bar and the ball fell kindly to Matty Hughes, who smashed home.

That was after McDonald and Rob Duffy had gone close again for Lynn.

Skelmersdale doubled their lead thanks a 25-yard screamer from Ashley Dunn and more misery was heaped on Lynn when Ryan Fryatt was robbed of the ball by Shaun Tuck.

He found Adam Morning to smash home from 25 yards, despite the efforts off Alex Street in the Lynn goal.
