TABLE TENNIS: Heacham’s first team in the Premier Division of the King’s Lynn TTA had to call on Charley Hammond and Vaughan Parker from their Division Two C side due to last-minute withdrawals through sickness for the visit of reigning champions Ziggys.

The visitors had Gary Hewitt and Allan Nicholls in top form and as a result the Seasiders lost 9-1. James Patterson got the point for Heacham with a win over John Blyth.

Heacham C had an 8-2 win at Ringstead with Vaughan Parker and Adrian Evans both having maximums, while Eileen Needham chipped in with a win over Les Sleight. She teamed up with Parker to win the doubles.

Mark Hipkin and Justin Mullins had a win each for the home side.

Spivs Specials just lost out at home to Runcton Holme B 6-4. No player could keep a clean sheet with Janice Howell and Stephen Jackson scoring two wins each for the hosts while, for Runcton, David Lane and Alan Fuller also won two singles and teamed up to take the doubles. Bryan Parsons added a singles win over Tony Boyle.
