Proud young artists from Downham Market will have their work displayed at Framin’ Art after winning a competition.

There were more than 50 entries, but the eventual winners were Ella Scotney, in the five to eight age category, Adam Hutchinson in the nine to 13 category and Hannah Staples in the 14 to 18 category.

Framin’ Art’s Here Comes the Sun competition, which ran over the summer holidays, saw youngsters produce artworks on A3-sized boards.

The winners, chosen by professional illustrator Izzy Wingham, will now have their art displayed at the High Street shop and gallery for a month.

Owner Simon Prior said he was delighted by the quality of the designs.

“There were some fantastic entries,” he said.

“Some of the more imaginative designs included Egyptian sun gods, sunflowers and beaches.

“We’ve wanted to do this for a while and thought the school holidays were the perfect time to run it.

“We just want to help get more young people involved in art.

“Congratulations to Ella, Adam and Hannah.

“Their work will now be displayed for a month and is available to purchase for anyone that wants to do so, although they’re technically not on sale.”

Framin’ Art is also set to supply Downham High School with a giant picture frame so students can display their end of year artwork in style.
