Some roads around Lynn’s historic Tuesday Market Place will be closed this weekend as work continues on a £1m revamp.
Ferry Street will be shut and King Street will be blocked outside Prezzo while workers resurface the road leading to the Corn Exchange.
There will be no access to the Tuesday Market Place from King Street, but local diversions will be in place.
Access to Common Staithe Quay car park will be via Water Lane and traffic lights will be in use.
Parking spaces on the market place will be closed from midnight tonight until 6pm next Friday, September 27 while the area is resurfaced and new parking lines are painted.
Work is due to be completed by the first week of November, in time for Lynn’s Christmas lights switch on event on November 28.
The improvements will include new pedestrian crossings, paving, planting and lighting.
West Norfolk council leader Nick Daubney said: “The refurbishment of the Tuesday Market Place is a major project aimed at making the most of this wonderful space in ways that support the local economy.
“Progress on the project has been good and I am pleased to be able to confirm that so far it is on time and within budget.”
