The Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King’s Lynn will be holding a special event later this month where members of the public can learn about what happens inside the human body.

The event, held tomorrow from 5:30pm to 7:30pm in the hospital’s conference room, is the latest in the series of hospital-run ‘2gether’ activity days.

It will allow people to find out more about X-rays, scans and endoscopy procedures, where doctors use fibre-optics and a small camera to see inside the body and diagnose medical problems.

They will also be given a brief outline of a diagnostic procedure, including what they are and how they are carried out, followed by a tour of the radiology and endoscopy departments.

The event will be lead by consultants Dr Geoff Hunman and Dr Alan Wiles.

Light refreshments will be available and anyone interested in attending should contact Fiona Cutts on 01553 613613 or fiona.cutts@gekhl.nhs.uk.
