Ryston Runners’ Cath Duhig proved to be a Czech master in the European Masters Non-Stadia Championships.
She returned from the Czech Republic with two titles, winning the 10K and 20K racewalks.
She was first in the W55 category of the 10K event at Radnovice by a good half lap in just under 63 and a half minutes.
Two days later in the 20K at Havlovice, she coasted home in 2:10:52.
Rob Simmonds ran in the Hatfield 10k on Sunday, finishing in 35:47, 15th overall.
At the first round of the Norfolk Athletics Championships in Great Yarmouth, Marie French retained her SW 800m title and took silver in the 1500m, breaking the 21-year-old club record by half a second.
In the U11 Quad Kids, Charlie Wakefield came second in the 75m sprint, threw a personal best of 40.67 in the javelin, then jumped a PB of 1.92 in the standing long jump for two more silvers, before winning the 600m to win the overall event with 267 points. Younger brother Harry PB’d in the sprint and threw 25 metres in the vortex javelin. Thea Howlett (U13G) missed out on gold in the 800m by a second, then jumped a 4m06 PB for bronze in the long jump.
In the U15G 200m Michaela Raine took bronze with 29.0secs. In the U15B, Justin Clark was third in the long jump.
James O’Neill picked up double gold in the Senior Men’s 800m and 1500m with Justin Kinsey taking silver in the latter in 4:17.
Martin Sheldrick was 259th in the Edinburgh Half Marathon in 1:32:21. He raised £1,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
