A new-look King’s Lynn Roger Warnes Transport Stars team entertained not only Poole but also the Sky Sports cameras on Wednesday.

And viewers were treated to a tight match with the hosts coming out 49-41 victors despite being reduced to just five riders.

Simon Stead was absent and Mads Korneliussen had to withdraw mid-meeting due to an injury.

Richie Worrall made his home debut, replacing Kozza Smith at reserve and weighed in with a paid-11 haul and there was a paid-14 for fellow reserve Seb Alden as the lower order weighed in solidly.

Niels Iversen and Alden gave the hosts an opening 5-1 with world champion Chris Holder winning Heat 3 for Poole’s first win.

Heat 7 saw a Stars 5-1 with Rory Schlein and Worrall defeating Holder.

Heat 8 brought a nasty crash for Stars skipper Korneliussen who had a coming together with Dawid Stachyra.

More tight racing followed before a Heat 15 win for Iversen with Rory Schlein third earned maximum points for the Stars.

New signing Worrall made a solid start on his Stars debut on Tuesday in Essex.

The reserve, who was snapped up from Belle Vue, weighed in with paid-nine haul but it was not enough to prevent a 53-39 defeat at Lakeside Hammers.

The visitors struggled in the first half of the meeting – Niels-Kristian Iversen fell while leading, a mistake by Nicolai Klindt saw a possible 5-1 turn into a 3-3 and three consecutive maximums put the hosts 39-21 ahead at the interval.

The Korneliussen/Worrall; and Iversen/Schlein pairings hit back with 5-1s but it was too little too late.

Stars at Lakeside: Iversen 9, Stead R/R, Korneliussen 12, Klindt 1, Schlein 9+2, Alden 0, Worrall 8+1.

Stars v Poole: Iversen 13+1, Stead R/R, Korneliussen 5, Klindt 2+2, Schlein 8, Alden 12+2, Worrall 9+2.
