May sees the start of the season for Holkham Cricket Club in the historic grounds of Holkham Hall.

Cricket was first played in the park in the 1840s. Thanks to the 2nd Earl, who arranged for part of the grounds to be levelled for the square, prepared by the ground staff from Lord’s.

This season will see a variety of teams play friendlies at Holkham.

The full fixture list will shortly be published and nets will start soon – an ideal time for new members to make their mark.

Spectators too are always welcome, bring a deck chair and picnic, sit back, relax and enjoy a little bit of a quintessentially English tradition.
