Two goals in four minutes condemned Downham Town to defeat against Thurlow Nunn League Division One champions-elect Cambridge University Press on Tuesday.

The West Norfolk side had matched their high-flying hosts for much of the first half, trailling by a single goal, but were caught out after 46 and 50 minutes in a 3-0 defeat.

Dale Twaite-Smith was man of match for Town.

The result was a repeat of Saturday’s score at Saffron Walden, where Town failed to come to terms with a bumpy surface. Captain Simon Bird was man of the match.

Dersingham Rovers continued to suffer end-of-season jitters as they slipped to a surprise 2-1 defeat at relegation-haunted North Walsham on Tuesday in the Anglian Combination.

Walsham took a third-minute lead but Dersingham struck back in the 20th minute through man of the match Robbie Harris.

Jordan Tipple hit the winner after 57 minutes.

Dersingham are holding a tribute to long-standing club member John Bunn on Sunday.

He was involved with the club for many years as a player and groundsman, and was Norfolk
FA groundsman of the year. A plaque in his memory will be unveiled before a match between
a Bunn XI and Dersingham Old Boys, 1pm. There will be a charity auction, raffle, barbecue and children’s attractions.
