A West Norfolk couple are training hard for a marathon bike ride later this year.

Phillip and Carole Seaman, of Middleton, will be spending four days cycling from London to Paris in September and are putting in the miles to ensure their challenge goes well.

They will be completing a total of 280 miles and finishing their ride on the iconic Champs-Élysées in Paris and then to the Eiffel Tower.

“We both thought we would undertake a challenge to raise money and awareness for the charity best known for campaign and supporting many aspects of mental health. We chose Mind,” said Mr Seaman.

Mrs Seaman said she took up serious cycling after she suffered a stress fracture from running – they are both members of Ryston Runners.

“I love cycling and it has less impact. Phillip said he would join me on the ride,” she said. The couple need to raise a minimum of £2,400 for the charity but are hoping to raise more during the coming months.
