7-1 win at UEA looks to have secured Pelicans’ place in Division Two North of the East Men’s League.
Pelicans always looked likely winners against an already-relegated but spirited UEA team and might have scored more.
But they still looked a little vulnerable at the back, needing Johnny Hie to be at his sharpest in goal.
Jack Major opened the scoring when his deflected, wind-assisted drive looped over the keeper.
Sam Major made some good interventions at the back and Josh Widdowson drove forward well from midfield to create opportunities for Harry Lankfer and Jack Major and two more goals followed from Major and Barny Esse.
Major went close in the second half with a thumping strike, although Sean Kerry and Widdowson producing clinical finishes to stretch away from the students, who did manage a consolation from a breakaway.
The scoring was completed with a penalty-flick from captain Nick Henry and a great instinctive low shot from Will Templeman.
