Fish and chip lovers in Gaywood will be able to eat from a popular take away restaurant again, less than a week after a fire.
The River Lane fish and chip shop hoped to be trading by yesterday evening following a blaze last Friday. Fire crews from the two King’s Lynn stations attended the fire at 3.52pm.
Owner John Redman said: “There was an electrical fault which caused the fire. It was controlled in the ducting.
“It all looked very dramatic, the staff tried to put it out. “No customers were in at the time and luckily no staff were hurt either.
“We have had lots of support from staff and customers. The staff stayed late to wash everything down.
“Everyone has been brilliant and so supportive.”
