A successful inaugural beer festival has surpassed all expectations.

The new event was a joint venture between members of King’s Lynn Vancouver Round Table 1114 and South Wootton Events.

Held last Saturday and Sunday on South Wootton green, an estimated 5,000 people attended over the two days.

Perfect weather conditions helped to boost the number of visitors and some supplies were sold out on the first day.

Rob Mason, chairman of South Wootton Beer Festival committee, said the cider sold out on Saturday with 34 boxes emptied, but supplies were soon replenished for the following day.

The event also included a prosecco and gin bar, food stalls, other refreshments, fun on the inflatables and live music.

Mr Mason thanked the event’s four main sponsors, the many businesses who sponsored the ales and ciders and Best@Bars.

Money raised from the festival will go to The Norfolk Hospice, Tapping House and towards community activities supported by members of South Wootton Events.
