A pet supplies shop has said farewell to one its longest-serving members of staff.

June Gittings has retired from Animal Magic in Bridge Street, Downham Market, after more than 30 years’ service.

Having worked for previous owner Ruth Varndell when the shop was known as Pets Tuck Shop, Mrs Gittings stayed on after the shop was taken over by Pauline Bigwood in 1990.

Mrs Bigwood said: “After more than 30 years working in the shop, my dear friend and colleague June has decided it is now time for a well-deserved rest and time to do all those things we all wish we had time to do.

“She will be greatly missed. We wish her a long and happy retirement and thank her for all her hard work, loyalty and friendship.”

New staff member Averil Furr has also joined the team.
