ANGLING: Cooler summer weather has switched on the fish at Nar Valley Fisheries this week.
Fenn Lake has consistently produced carp to 25lb and Doug’s Lake has been good for tench between 1lb and 4lb in bags of up to 25 fish in a session.
Willow Pool is always worth a go for double-figure carp, tench to 4lb, bream to 6lb and good quality roach.
John’s Pond has slowed down a little from the first few weeks of the season but is still worth a go for double-figure bream and tench.
Lake Geneva has been action all the way. Ian Allen was fishing a clear spot at 110 yards with CC Moore live-system as bait, using JK Angling end tackle, to bank a superb 36lb 4oz mirror carp, another top quality fish to add to his impressive collection.
However, this was not the largest fish out as a 41lb 10oz mirror took top honours, part of a 17 fish haul over three days for another member.
Only a few night fishing permits are available. For details, contact Chris, 01553 636507.
Hobbs Lake Trout fishery is on fine form with trout in the upper layers due to unseasonal cooler temperatures. Combined with some good hatches, sport is very good to nymphs, buzzers and dry fly. Members are reporting bags of up to eight fish to 3lb during an evening session.
