FOOTBALL: A well-taken hat-trick by Harrison Brant helped Downham Town Blues u12 to a 6-2 win at Walpole.

Ethan Gould also scored twice, including a “Messi-like” chipped finish, while Jevan Cook completed the scoring, heading in a corner from Owen Stacey. The team are top of Mid Norfolk Youth League u12 Division Two, with four wins from four games, even though all of the players are young enough to play in the u11 age group.

  •  The Woottons u14s put in their best performance of the season to beat Hungate 10-0. Goals came at regular intervals from Harry Carter 3, Jake Smith 2, Rio Culey 2, Thomas Wagg 2 and a fine strike from Jak Uppington.
